The Lincoln Writing Center exists to help students of all majors and academic preparedness succeed in their writing assignments. Students are encouraged to visit at any stage of the writing process, from initial brainstorming to polishing their final draft. It is always useful to bring as much information as possible, including assignment prompt(s); rubric; examples; and/or anything else provided by your instructor. If students need to find any materials online, they can use the computers in the Center with their Lincoln login information.

During the session, students will meet with a trained peer tutor one-on-one. Tutors do not generally provide line edits or make grammatical corrections without student involvement. However, while tutors will generally focus on higher-order concerns such as staying on-topic; thesis statements; organization; research; and structure, tutors can also help with later-order concerns such as clarity and conciseness; mechanics (including grammar); syntax; or any other topic with which students need assistance.

Make an appointment or submit to the Online Writery by emailing WritingCenter@LincolnU.edu. Making an appointment ensures you will not need to wait for a tutor, but you are also always welcome to drop by for a walk-in appointment at the Center in MLK 117.
