Bachelor of Science in Education
Many teachers prefer teaching high shcool students, for various reasons. Primarily, they are more independent and are more likely to perceive what they want to acheive in life. They are also looking forwared to graduation and are eager to see what the world has to offer them.
High school pupils often seek advice because they understand their educators are wll intentioned and have insights to share concerning educational and/or vocational aspirations. High school educators able to relate to their pupils in ways to result in lasting positive impressions.
Lincoln University offers a Secondary School Education Bachelor of Science Degree in each of the following areas: English, Mathematices, Science, and Social Studies.
The demand for high school teachers will to continue to increase steadily with majority of those needs for educators affiliated with S.T.E.M. programs (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).
Mission / Objectives
Candidates completing a Bachelor of Science in Education Degree in the area of Secondary School Education will:
- Demonstrate an understanding of their content area(s) knowledge base, educational and developmental theories, strategies, methodologies and procedures, national and state standards, and professional dispositions, for their appropriate degree.
- Demonstrate an understanding of how diverse students learn "best" and successfully implement instructional strategies that engage students in problem solving and critical thinking, utilizing a variety of methods that are developmental appropriate and content correct.
- Demonstrate an understanding of social responsibility and professionalism to enhance student's global consciousness, as well as their own global consciousness, when they encounter diverse people, perspectives and ideas.
