Are you ready to accept your financial aid award?

Our team is here to help you every step of the way, please find helpful guidance as you accept your award offer at Lincoln University of Missouri.

Financial Aid Available via Self Service

Please read all of the information in this letter, as you may need to submit additional information or forms.

You the student must take the appropriate steps to accept/decline or view updated awards per your financial aid offering online. You will want to login, select the "Self-Service" option in the Blue Tiger Self Service Portal  Click on the Financial Aid Section:

Carefully Review:

  • View all missing documents
  • View all documents that are received.
  • Add outside award information.
  • Print copies of your Offer Letter.
  • Find helpful links to requested resources and requested forms. 

Award Offer Guidance  

The awards are based on the assumption you are enrolled as a full-time student. When/if the enrollment status changes then the financial aid awards may be reduced or eliminated. The initial awards may also be reduced/eliminated if subsequent information is received regarding a previous or concurrent enrollment at another college or university for which aid was awarded during the same term.

Institutional Scholarships

Can only be used to pay institutional charges and are subject to reductions based on actual charges. Institutional scholarships cannot be refunded and are restricted for payment towards specific charges.

Additional/External Financial Assistance

It is the responsibility of the student to notify the Office of Student Financial Aid of any award that is additional and resources that will be received for the academic year to be included in the award letter (Ex. Scholarships, rehabilitation assistance, tuition waiver/discount, stipends, fellowships, etc.). The receipt of additional awards and resources may cause a reduction in the current award that is offered. All external scholarship check payments should be mailed to :

Direct Student Loans

Lincoln University participates in the William D. Ford Direct Loan Program. Under this program, loan funds will be disbursed by the federal government to the university to be credited to a student's LU student account.

Please note: Parents ARE NOT to complete this process as the student. Since the process requires e-signatures, it is your responsibility to complete these steps thru on-line accounts that require personal account log-in information. Parents should not have access to this information as it conflicts with the FERPA policy.

Further action is only needed if you will accept any loan that has been offered and you are a first time or newly re-admitted borrower at Lincoln University, ALL of the following must be done:

If you will accept a loan that has been offered and you are a returning student borrower at Lincoln University, you must complete the following:

30- Day Delay Loans

If you are a first-time, first-year undergraduate borrower of subsidized and unsubsidized loans, your loan funds are delayed 30 days after the beginning of the first semester enrolled.  This is a federal and institutional regulation.

Enrollment Status

At the time of disbursement you must be enrolled at part-time status (6 credit hours for undergraduate and 5 credit hours for graduate). If any one of the items are not completed, it will delay or cancel the disbursement of your loan funds.

Direct Plus Loan

Please note: Only parent(s) should complete the Federal Direct PLUS Loan application process.If a PLUS Loan is requested by the student, it could lead to fraud charges!

A Direct Plus loans is presented as an "Offer only". Before you are officially awarded this particular award, your parent must apply!  

If your PARENT is interested in applying for the Federal Direct PLUS loan, they may do so by logging in to the following website utilizing the parent's FSA ID and password- http://studentloans.gov

Renewal of Awards:

Federal aid programs, Access Missouri, and many other scholarship agencies require that a FAFSA is completed each year to determine eligibility. Lincoln University scholarships and Bright Flight have varying renewal criteria. Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) must be maintained to continue receiving financial aid.

Lincoln University reserves the right to modify awarded financial aid at any time due to changes in a student's financial, housing, or academic situation. Please check your Blue Tiger Self-Service Portal to ensure that all documents have been received and to review the status of your financial aid prior to contacting us. Be sure to also check your "mylinolnu" email account regularly for any correspondence from us. You must notify us of any changes that may impact your awards.
