Research Interest:
Dr. Patel uses his plant pathology expertise to study important diseases of crops in the region. He is always interested in applying creative and innovative approaches for control of important plant diseases. His other interests include identifying novel antimicrobial molecules, understanding visible and UV lights for disease control, studying fungicide resistance mechanisms in plant pathogens, characterizing phytotoxin produced by plant pathogens, understanding host-pathogen interactions, implementing disease control methods in organic agriculture, studying factors affecting pathogen biology, and identifying new and emerging plant diseases.
