Fire Alarms

Residence halls have installed fire alarms in the building. Residents and any visitors/guests are required to immediately leave the building (this includes real alarms, false alarms, and fire drills) when the system sounds. Residents must evacuate to a designated spot away from the building and await instructions from residential staff. Residents may not re-enter the residence hall until authorized by the residential staff or fire department; even if the alarm is no longer sounding. Failure to leave may have sanctions such as a fine. EXCEPTION: Residents are not required to leave if there is a test of the fire alarm system and we have notified residents in advance of the test.
