As part of the Lincoln University of Missouri’s “25 in ‘25” points of pride, we celebrate Tim Abney, Lincoln University director of athletics and campus recreation, for achieving the rare honor of dual induction into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and the North Carolina A&T Sports Hall of Fame.
Earlier in September, Abney was inducted into the North Carolina A&T Sports Hall of Fame. His enshrinement into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame followed on Sunday, Oct. 20, during a ceremony at the Holiday Inn Executive Center in Columbia, Missouri.
"I am deeply committed to shaping the current generation of Lincoln University student-athletes and building a foundation for future greatness in our athletic programs," said Lincoln University Director of Athletics and Campus Recreation Tim Abney. "It’s our mission to not only develop champions on the field and court but also to prepare them for success in life. Being part of their journey is the most rewarding honor of all."
Abney continued to elevate Blue Tiger athletics, coaching the women's basketball and tennis teams and taking on administrative roles within the department. In 2003, he was named Heartland Conference Coach of the Year, and his leadership remains a cornerstone of Lincoln's athletic success.
Abney's dual induction into two prestigious halls of fame is a testament to his legacy of excellence, both as a player and a coach, and a source of immense pride for Lincoln University.
