25 in ’25 – Lincoln University Strengthens Top Faculty and Staff Retention with Salary and Benefits Investment

January 28th, 2025

Lincoln University of Missouri is spotlighting significant investments in the institution’s employees and staff over recent years. As the University reflects on its commitment to attracting, retaining and empowering top talent through its “25 in ‘25” points of pride initiative, Lincoln celebrates its investments in employee salaries and health insurance benefits, helping retain the strongest educators for Lincoln’s students.

To ensure Lincoln employees receive equitable benefits, the University transitioned to the Missouri Consolidated Health Care Plan (MCHCP), providing its faculty and staff with the same high-quality healthcare access provided to Missouri state employees. The new plan increased the University’s per-employee healthcare investment by $5,842 annually. This investment was made possible through an additional $2.1 million in funding from the state legislature.

In addition to improving its healthcare benefits, Lincoln has prioritized competitive salaries year-by-year as a cornerstone of its faculty and staff retention and development. Over the past several years, employees have received annual salary increases. In the 2023-2024 fiscal year, 75 percent of faculty members received an 11 percent salary increase — marking the most significant salary adjustment on record for Lincoln University.

“Our faculty and staff are the backbone of Lincoln University,” said Lincoln University President Dr. John B. Moseley. “Their contributions are essential to the success of our students and community, so it's critical that we are supporting our team’s commitment through equitable benefits and competitive compensation.”

As Lincoln University celebrates its legacy through its “25 in ‘25” campaign, its efforts to support Lincoln faculty and staff further its dedication to creating an environment where employees feel supported, valued and equipped to uphold academic excellence for its students.
