25 in ’25 – Lincoln University Celebrates Significant Academic Gains

Lincoln University of Missouri celebrates significant academic gains over the past decade as it continues its “25 in ‘25” points of pride, highlighting key achievements to build momentum for the future. The increases in GPA across different demographics and academic levels highlight an upward trend in student performance and suggest positive developments in the university's academic programs and student support systems.
The combined average GPA of Lincoln University undergraduate and graduate students has increased by 8.30325%, from 2.77 in 2015 to 3.00 in 2024. In the past five years, the average undergraduate student GPA increased from 2.85 in 2019 to 2.95 in 2024. For graduate students, GPAs increased from 3.71 in 2019 to 3.77 in 2024.
“These gains are the direct result of our faculty and staff’s dedication to innovative teaching methods and fostering a supportive learning environment,” said Lincoln President Dr. John B. Moseley. “New initiatives like the University College continue to advance success, providing critical programming for first-time students. We look forward to seeing our students reach even greater achievement.”
Among Black or African American students, their average GPA rose from 2.19 in 2015 to 2.54 in 2024, a gain of 0.35 points. Over the past five years, their GPA increased from 2.40 in 2019 to 2.54 in 2024.
Female students’ average GPA rose from 2.87 in 2015 to 3.07 in 2024, a 6.97% increase. In the past five years, their GPA increased from 3.00 in 2019 to 3.07 in 2024. Male students also improved, with their average GPA rising from 2.65 in 2015 to 2.91 in 2024, and from 2.74 in 2019 to 2.91 in 2024 over the past five years.
The average GPA of first-time freshmen increased from 2.35 in 2015 to 2.71 in 2024. Over the past five years, their GPA rose from 2.53 in 2019 to 2.71 in 2024.
