Lincoln University of Missouri is launching a new Cybersecurity Certificate program spring 2025. This fully online program offers a flexible learning option, enabling students to complete their certification in just 18 credit hours.
“The standalone Cybersecurity Certificate is a credit-bearing program designed to meet the needs of returning and advancing professionals across a variety of careers,” says Lincoln University Assistant Provost for Academic Innovation, Outreach & Research Dr. Darius Watson. “It mirrors our cybersecurity minor, which is an option that adds significant value for our traditional students pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer information services.”
The program’s curriculum provides in-depth coverage of key areas including programming, software development and cyber operations. This comprehensive approach equips students with the practical skills needed for a variety of cybersecurity roles. Designed to be affordable and adaptable, the program allows students to balance their studies with other commitments, making it accessible to both traditional students and working professionals.
Graduates will be prepared to earn industry-recognized certifications, which can significantly enhance their career prospects. The Cybersecurity Certificate is ideal for individuals aiming for entry-level positions in cybersecurity or seeking to advance within their current roles.
This certificate advances LU’s ongoing efforts to expand its Security Sciences Institute and Employment Academy, while also strengthening its K-12 cybersecurity partnership with Jefferson City and St. Louis high schools. These initiatives will provide a range of opportunities for both traditional and nontraditional students, including specialized training, industry certifications and degree programs, all linked to internships and job placements with partners like the Missouri Department of Social Services and Ameren Missouri.
Accepting applications for spring 2025. Classes start January 13.
