Dr. Tobias R. Morgan Selected as Lincoln University of Missouri Chief of Student Affairs and Dean of Students

Lincoln University of Missouri has selected Dr. Tobias R. Morgan as the new chief student affairs officer and dean of students. As chief student affairs officer and dean of students, Dr. Morgan will oversee a comprehensive network of student support services and programs.
Reporting directly to the Office of the President, Dr. Morgan will provide leadership and administrative oversight for departments, including Student Conduct, Student Engagement, Leadership Development, Student Governance, Greek Life and Student Health and Counseling Services. He is responsible for creating and maintaining a vibrant campus community that supports the diverse needs of residential, commuter, undergraduate and graduate students. This includes developing innovative programs reflective of the HBCU experience, fostering collaborative partnerships across the university and community, managing complex budgets and ensuring effective program assessment and implementation.

Dr. Morgan brings extensive experience in student affairs and development, having served in impactful roles at esteemed institutions. He received his Doctor of Philosophy in higher education leadership from Morgan State University, a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from American InterContinental University and a Bachelor of Science in sociology from Lincoln University of Pennsylvania. He has held significant positions such as assistant and associate director of student life and activities at Loyola University and Howard University, where he honed his expertise in student engagement, leadership development and institutional policy.
At Kentucky State University and Tennessee State University, Dr. Morgan excelled as assistant dean of student engagement, fostering strong relationships with students and campus partners and contributing to student success through his work on the university QEP task force and student equity and retention committee. Additionally, as resident director at Coppin State University, he developed crisis management, policy enforcement and leadership skills. His most recent role at Shaw University involved overseeing several key student-focused departments. Dr. Morgan’s diverse background equips him with the practical and theoretical knowledge necessary to excel as the chief student affairs officer and dean of students at Lincoln University of Missouri.
