Lincoln University of Missouri Professor of Business Dr. Troy Frank has been honored with the 2024 Governor’s Award for Excellence in Education. The Governor’s Award is sponsored by the Missouri Council on Public Higher Education and is presented annually to an outstanding faculty member representing each of Missouri’s four-year public institutions.

This prestigious award recognizes exceptional educators for their dedication, innovation and commitment to inspiring students in the state of Missouri.

“I love to be the provider of knowledge, and I love molding, shaping and influencing young minds,” says Dr. Frank. “It’s a rewarding profession, and there’s nothing like being in the classroom and seeing the lightbulbs turn on in students’ heads.”

Dr. Frank has worked at Lincoln for 14 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Michigan State University, a master’s degree in sports management from the United States Sports Academy and a doctoral degree from Webster University.

Originally from New York, Dr. Frank spent his childhood living in Jefferson City until age 13 when he moved to New Orleans. He says his greatest inspiration is his father — Lincoln’s 14th president — Dr. James Frank.

Every day at Lincoln, Dr. Frank serves as a source of inspiration for students, and his impressive list of achievements now includes the prestigious Governor’s Award of Excellence.

“Life is a journey, and the successes are not the end of the road — the success comes from the journey itself,” says Dr. Frank.
