Join us for a virtual presentation, "Current Politics of Mozambique: An African Country Struggles to Maintain Its Young Democracy."

From Maputo, Mozambique, Dr. Egidio Chaimite will provide an overview of current politics in Mozambique after its controversial 2024 presidential election.

Chaimite is a scholar at the Institute of Social and Economic Studies in Maputo, Mozambique who studies democracy and local government. He holds a Ph.D. in development studies from Sussex University in the United Kingdom. Chaimite will join Lincoln University of Missouri in 2026 through a prestigious Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence award. Read more about the Fulbright Scholar in Residence award.
