Black History Matters
In Fall 2021 Lincoln University students participated in a class where they were responsible for creating new Missouri Black History content for the Missouri State Museum. Their work was on display at the Missouri State Museum (in the State Capital Building) in the Fall 2022 semester and is currently on display in commemoration of Black History Month (throughout February) at Inman E. Page Library. On Tuesday, February 7 at 11 am Dr. Christine E. Boston, Associate Professor of Anthropology & Sociology, will discuss the process, from start to finish, that led to the collaboration between Lincoln University and the Missouri State Museum that provided these Lincoln students the opportunity to complete this project. She will discuss how the project came to be, what the students learned and how they progressed through their coursework, as well as upcoming and future opportunities that students may be interested in participating in so they, too, can make their mark in showcasing Black history.
