Field Education

Field Education
The field practicum experience provides students with the opportunity to engage in the integration of theoretical knowledge with social work practice. Students complete 425 hours of block field placement in an approved field practicum agency.
To be eligible for field placement (SW 499), students must successfully complete the general education courses required in the major and the courses in social work major with a C or better. In the fall of their senior year, students complete a Field Practicum Orientation course (SW 490) to prepare for their practicum experience in the spring. The field practicum experience is only offered in the Spring Semester.
