Bachelor of Science with a major in Civil Engineering Technology

The CET degree program offered by the department is designed to prepare students to work in varied areas in civil engineering and allied fields. The graduates often find employment in the state transportation office and in construction industries. It is a unique program in the state and only a very few universities are offering such a program. It provides an opportunity for students with all levels of preparation to engage in engineering studies. The design of the curriculum, well qualified faculty, small class size, and effective advising are some of the features of the program. The program gives a strong emphasis in civil engineering, architectural drawing, and building engineering. Graduates often find it easier to pursue graduate studies in civil engineering and related fields after completing this degree. Students majoring in other disciplines can also complete a minor in civil engineering technology by completing a minimum of 18 hours of CET courses.
