Ilester McRoberts Award
The Ilester McRoberts Award is awarded annually to an inspirational undergraduate creative writing student at Lincoln University. Scholarship Value: $100
Ilester McRoberts earned her Associates Degree in Human Services from Meramec Community College in Kirkwood, Missouri, in 2001. McRoberts attended Lincoln University beginning in fall of 2012, and majored in English with an emphasis in creative writing. Her passion: inspirational writing. She believes studying creative writing and literature as a non-traditional student at Lincoln University helped her to know herself better, to learn about life, to better know people from far and near, and to more fully understand the world we live in.
In 2014, McRoberts had the opportunity to study abroad in London, England. She studied British literature, sports literature, and took a course called Writing in the City.
McRoberts supports the Creative Writing students at Lincoln University. As a non-traditional student, she loved her time at Lincoln University and felt a true kinship with her classmates and instructors. She remains a cheerleader for the students and the program. She believes the Ilester McRoberts Award will support innovative, inspirational undergraduate writers for years to come.
