Welcome to Lincoln University’s Alumni Mentorship Initiative

At Lincoln University of Missouri, we are dedicated to ensuring our students are equipped for success both during their time on campus and beyond. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our Alumni Mentorship Initiative, a transformative program designed to connect current students with alumni mentors. Through our partnership with Mentor Collective, we are enhancing career readiness and fostering professional development, one meaningful connection at a time.

Each incoming first-year student will be invited to connect with an identity-aligned alumni mentor, providing a tailored and supportive experience. These connections go beyond career advice, offering guidance and insights that reflect the students’ aspirations and challenges.

Key Benefits for Students and Alumni

First-year students are matched with alumni who can support their transition to university life.
Alumni mentors showcase diverse career paths and share valuable professional insights.
Mentors and mentees build meaningful relationships that inspire confidence and achievement.

Building Bridges Between Students and Alumni

Lincoln University’s student body — predominantly African American and students of color — has expressed a strong desire for mentors who understand their unique experiences. Simultaneously, many alumni have shown an eagerness to give back and support the next generation of Blue Tigers. This initiative bridges these needs, creating a network of support that is vital for academic and professional success.

"I mentor because I believe in the potential within each student to transform their communities, industries and futures. Mentoring is about lighting a path forward." Lauren Maupins ’89, Mentor
