The Center for Teaching and Learning

The Center for Teaching and Learning at Lincoln University operates as an extension of the Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs. The CTL supports innovative and transformative education at Lincoln University. Furthermore, the CTL promotes excellence in the teaching and learning process by providing on-going professional development opportunities for the distinguished faculty of Lincoln University.

At the core of its work, the CTL works to assist instructors with the framework and knowledge base to assist faculty with embracing evidence-based and emerging practices through experimentation, learning and reflection.

New Faculty Support

Supporting new faculty is significantly important to ensuring faculty are properly acclimated to Lincoln University. A two-day New Faculty Forum is held each August in which new faculty engage in an interactive session on teaching, research, and service. In addition to the New Faculty Forum, the Center will provide opportunities for additional professional development for new faculty for Teaching and Learning throughout the academic year.

Faculty Recognition

Every year, each College on the Lincoln University campus nominates one faculty from their unit to be recognized for their excellence in Teaching. Faculty receiving this award will be recognized as a part of Lincoln University’s annual faculty recognition activities.

This award is presented annually to two (2) Lincoln University tenure-track, untenured (junior) faculty members to recognize teaching excellence. One faculty member per college is selected as a nominee for this award. College selection committees determine the nominees.

Each year, Lincoln University recognizes the community engagement of two of the university’s esteemed faculty members.

Faculty Development Funding

Faculty requesting funding for professional development should complete this form.

Each faculty member should complete the attached form obtaining signatures from their department head, dean, and the Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
