LU Nursing Students Participate in Missouri Nurses Association Advocacy Day at the Capitol

March 17th, 2025

Lincoln University senior nursing students and faculty attended the Missouri Nurses Association (MONA) Nurse Advocacy Day at the Capitol on March 5, 2025. The event brought together over 350 nurses and nursing students from across the state to discuss healthcare policies and nursing advocacy.

The LU group consisted of ten senior nursing students set to graduate in May 2025, accompanied by Academic Coach Michelle Harper and Assistant Professor Abbie Bredeman. During the event, they met with Senator Mike Bernskoetter, and Governor Mike Kehoe made a surprise appearance at the opening session, held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel. Additionally, Lincoln University student Rubi Bolinger was interviewed by KRCG.

A larger group of people, totaling around 30, poses behind and in front of the same wooden podium in a government chamber with marble columns and a decorative clock. The attendees wear business attire and smile for the photo. Three individuals are seated on a bench in the foreground, suggesting a formal group gathering for MONA Day.
