Lincoln University of Missouri’s 2025 Safety and Security Career Expo Set for March 5

February 21st, 2025

The Lincoln University of Missouri's 2025 Safety and Security Career Expo, hosted by the Lincoln University of Missouri Security Sciences Institute, will take place on Wednesday, March 5, at The LINC (1299 Lafayette St., Jefferson City, MO 65101). This fourth annual event offers attendees an opportunity to explore careers in safety and security, engage with over 50 law enforcement and security agencies spanning local, state and federal levels. Participating agencies may also take part in a professional panel discussion and join a Q&A session.

Prior to the career expo, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., a panel discussion on "Strategies for Integrating Public, Private, and Higher Education Resources in Emergency Management" will take place in the President's Suite at The LINC for law enforcement and security agency guests. Attendees will benefit from insights and strategies shared by leading security officials in Missouri.

A tan military vehicle and a red Jefferson City fire truck are parked side by side outside a modern brick and metal building. Orange traffic cones line the parking area, and a firefighter is seen standing near the truck. The sky is clear and blue. Emergency management and military vehicles were displayed at the 2024 LU Safety and Security Career Expo.

Agencies interested in participating can register online. Participating agencies will enjoy a complimentary catered lunch from LU. The expo’s $50 registration fee will be waived for military and first responders.

The career expo is scheduled from 12:30-3 p.m., and over 200 high school and college-age students are expected to attend. In addition to networking with professionals, students will also have the opportunity to engage in a variety of other activities showcasing the opportunities and day-to-day requirements of security and emergency response careers. High schools, community colleges and other higher education institutions may register to attend here.

The event is sponsored by LU’s Security Sciences Institute, which offers online and hybrid certificate programs to help meet vital demand for skilled professionals in the security industry. For inquiries, please contact Dr. Darius Watson at 573-681-5216 or WatsonD@LincolnU.edu.
