Lincoln University Inducts Colonel Eric Rant ’94, USA (Ret.), and Lieutenant Colonel Bucky Moore ’96, USA (Ret.), into Army ROTC Hall of Fame

On Friday, October 4, 2024, Lincoln University of Missouri honored two of its distinguished alumni at the Army ROTC Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. Held at Soldiers Hall in Jefferson City, the ceremony celebrated the exceptional military careers and contributions of Colonel Eric Rant ’94, USA (Ret.), and Lieutenant Colonel Bucky Moore ’96, USA (Ret). LU alumnus Col. Butler, USA (Ret.), served as the guest speaker.

Col. Eric Rant, a 1994 graduate of Lincoln University’s Army ROTC program, was recognized for his impressive service in the U.S. Army, which included leadership roles in several engineering units. With a career spanning decades, Rant commanded at multiple levels, including the 834th Engineer Company and the 224th Engineer Battalion. His service took him to Iraq in 2005, where he served as Intelligence Officer for the 224th Engineer Battalion. His numerous accolades include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star, and he was promoted to brigadier general in 2022. Rant holds advanced degrees in engineering management, strategic studies, and business administration, and currently serves as senior director of operational excellence at WestRock.

Lt. Col. Bucky Moore, a 1996 graduate of Lincoln University, served over 29 years in the U.S. Army, commanding at various levels, including as battalion commander of the 79th Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Battalion and deputy brigade commander of the 59th Ordnance Brigade. His leadership extended to joint operations in Afghanistan, and he collaborated with numerous federal agencies, including FEMA, the FBI, and the U.S. Secret Service. Moore now works as a safety, health, explosive and security auditor for Austin Powder Co.

The ceremony honored their exceptional leadership and service, further cementing their legacy within Lincoln University’s Army ROTC program and the broader military community.
