Dear Lincolnite,
As the start of another school year has arrived, I wanted to take a moment to personally invite you to Jefferson City for Lincoln University's annual Homecoming activities beginning Sunday, September 29th, and culminating with the parade and football game on Saturday, October 5th.
It is important that the current Blue Tigers have an opportunity to learn from those on whose shoulders they now stand. This University, its past, present, and future, is greater than the challenges that we have faced. Our goal should be to work through these times to ensure that Lincoln University thrives in its mission of educating and empowering our students in a way that positively changes not only the life of the student, but of generations after them.
Our Office of Alumni Affairs is working to put together a line-up of events that welcome each generation of Lincolnites and provides an opportunity for you to show your Blue Tiger Spirit to this newest generation. We want to be intentional about creating opportunities for you to engage with our current students through mentorships, conversations on career options, and by providing financial resources and scholarships to assist them on their academic journeys. We also ask that you invite potential students to attend with you, so we can grow their interest in attending Lincoln University, as we seek to increase enrollment and position LU to become one of the Top-20 HBCUs in the nation.
If you have not already done so, we hope that you’ll soon make your plans join us for Homecoming 2024.
In Blue Tiger Spirit
John B. Moseley, Ed.D.
