Lincoln University Prepares for Springfest 2023

Lincoln University of Missouri celebrates Springfest 2023 with a week-long celebration of campus and community events April 16-22.

Lincoln University of Missouri (LU) is excited to bring back a long-standing tradition with Springfest 2023. This week-long event is designed to celebrate the arrival of spring with outside entertainment before the completion of the academic year. For over 20 years, Springfest has invited LU students, faculty, staff, alumni and the community to celebrate the warmer days on its historic campus. Springfest 2023 will take place April 16-22.

LU campus and the Jefferson City community are invited to LU Takeover Downtown on Thursday, April 20, from 6-9 p.m. Due to inclement weather, the location has been changed to Jason Gym, 809 Lafayette St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Entertainment from the LU Vocal Ensemble and various LU student talents will open for Dope Ass Sneakers on the main stage. The event is free of charge and open to the public. The event is sponsored by the News Tribune, Central Bank and JC Parks.

On Friday, April 21, LU Admissions is hosting a Springfest Open House from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Scruggs University Center, 819 Chestnut St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Prospective students can learn about admissions, financial aid, campus life, athletic opportunities, and audition for the band and choir.

LU is hosting a Community Carnival on Saturday, April 22 at The Linc, 1299 Lafayette St., Jefferson City, MO 65101, from 12-5 p.m. There will be rides, games, a bounce house, face painting, a kids’ corner, and a petting zoo. Admission costs $5 for ages 4-12, $10 for those 13 and up, and is free for kids three and under. Feed at the petting zoo will have an additional fee.

To close out the week, a Springfest Party Concert will be held on Saturday, April 22 at 10 p.m. featuring Big Boogie in Jason Gym, 809 Lafayette St., Jefferson City, MO 65101. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission is $25 for the general public and $15 for LU students with valid school IDs. All Springfest Party Concert tickets must be purchased online through Eventbrite by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 21. Tickets will not be available for purchase at the door.
